Beachmont Welcomes Allison Funkhouser!
Dear Beachmont Family and Friends,
We’re extremely excited to announce that Mrs. Allison Funkhouser will be joining the Beachmont staff as our new Administrative Assistant!
Allison’s first official day in the office will be Monday, January 7th and she can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org
Please join us in welcoming Allison while praying for her smooth transition and for Beachmont’s ministries to be enhanced by her gifts!
What will Allison be doing at Beachmont?
As the Administrative Assistant, Allison will be responsible for all of the “front of house” office duties including welcoming and assisting all guests and visitors, processing phone calls and responding to general e-mail inquiries.
As the primary point of reference and information, this role is the most recognizable “face and voice of Beachmont” – offering a warm, friendly greeting while communicating important information.
Allison will also be responsible for managing administrative aspects for rental groups and special events, helping coordinate volunteers and provide general support for the Corn Maze, as well as assisting each of our departmental team leaders. As with all staff members, Allison’s efforts will directly support and enhance all of our ministry programming.
What is Allison’s backstory?
Allison was born and raised in Joppatowne and has lived in Maryland her entire life; for the most part, calling Harford County home.
Allison was raised as a Brethren, experiencing a faith that is rich in discipleship, peace and reconciliation, simple living and service to neighbors near and far. She was baptized as a young adult and reconfirmed her commitment to follow Jesus when joining Mountain Christian Church in 2002. She continues to call Mountain her church home.
She most recently served part-time at Long Green Valley Church of the Brethren as their church secretary for the past 8 years, while being a full-time housewife and Mom. Allison and her husband Ryan have been married in 2002 and reside in Fallston with their two sons, Logan and Rocco.
What Allison has to say about joining the Beachmont staff:
“I feel extremely blessed and honored to be joining the Beachmont staff team during this exciting time. The energy and passion expressed from the team for the camp, its mission, and future possibilities is inspiring. I feel grateful for the opportunity to join a team with a common mission, a heart for ministry, and most importantly Christ-centered. I have felt God’s hand leading me to the beautiful campus at Beachmont to start this next chapter in my life.”
As a child, my favorite bible verse was Psalm 122:1: “I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord.” I remember as a child reading this scripture in my Good News bible that was given to all the first-graders in Sunday School, and seeing the sketch of an adult guiding a child into a doorway. I think it was my favorite because church was always such a happy place for me, and a place that my family spent a lot of time together.
As an adult, my favorite scripture is Matthew 22:36-39 (The Great Commandment):“Love your Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. This is the first commandment. And the second is like it, Love your neighbor as yourself.” Wow! Love God and love your neighbor. If we could all just love each other a little more and do all things in love… this is my lifelong goal. Show love to all that I encounter, and to treat others as I would like to be treated. It’s so simple, yet so powerful.
